actually that was how i felt the first time i opened the image on my computer. usually not a flower picture person, i really liked this image. probably its because of the contrast between the flower and grass or the insects on it. or the dreamy feel the clipped highlights give to the picture.
thanks everybody for the feedback i received last week on the portraits. thanks to everyone who left a feedback and also to those who paid a visit. much, much appreciated. this week i've decided to take in some fresh air and go outdoors again! hope u enjoy them and please do keep the feedbacks rolling in. i can only get better from them.
on another note i've been on shutterchance just over a month now. wow!! how time flies when ur having fun. and its just over 2 months now i've been brave enough to put up my pictures for public scrutiny :-) the interest for taking pictures and the drive to improve r still there and i hope to sustain it right up to d next milestone: august 2006. wonder if i'll make it....
now back to the image. i blurred the background and did some massive cropping. though i wish i had noticed the insects during the shot. i would have tried going in closer. though if i recall correctly it was quite windy and the flower was fluttering all over the place! i also dulled the brightness of the flower highlights :S
WOW

Cool shot, you do not have to worry, the insect works with the image just the way it is. Well you get lucky sometimes
However one thing I think you overdid was the cropping, why crop the bit of the flower on the left?
Anyway very good shot.

deji77: initially i left the flower whole and it stole the show. then i decided to chop of bits of it and put more attention on the insects. thanks for the comment suby.

Knew i'd have to explain that cause the Ibadan you saw was very different from the one i grew up in. It was a beautiful and natural place with lots of trees, squirrels, rocks, ponds and of course flowers with creepy crawlies...very nice..
