REFLECTIONS

Neither probably aware of the other, but yet sharing the same human experience. Or maybe even, they're aggrieved lovers, dishing out silent treatment. On the other hand, probably just accidental strangers catching the midday sun and breeze.

He always sits there at the same time everyday. It's like a little game we play. I sit here writing and then I hear footsteps, his footsteps. He makes a shuffling sound when he sits – as if to announce his arrival – and then opens up the first bottle. He whistles a different Billy Holiday tune just before he leaves, maybe as a signal for me too to wrap up my work. What he doesn't know however, is that tomorrow, I plan on walking over....

Everyday,  I see her sitting there and want to say something, but words fail me.  Once, I heard her hum "The very thought of you" and figured she's a lover of jazz. So, I whistled Billy Holiday tunes in hopes of catching her attention. I constantly imagine how wonderful a smile from her would feel.... Sad really, I never got to know her name. Tomorrow, Paris is taking me away for good.

My interpretation of the theme reflections. A big thank you to Temi and Nike for coming up with what I consider an incredible story.

Wow! Deji. a terrific idea and story. Mind you if I was nitpicking I would point out that this is more yin and yang than reflection!
Great commentary either way.

I like it. The framing is really fun and the understated color of the bricks works so well with all the white.

I like everything (yes, everything) about this shot, I wouldn't call it perfect : why didn't you straighten this???
That would do it for me.Very well captured.

This one made me think a lot, about how we limit ourselfs and what we may be letting pass us by each day. Missed opportunities thats what I see here, kind of sad. A great picture and the story was very thought provoking. A lesson in there for all of us I think! smile

it's sad thinking about missed opportunities like this. Emotionally getting wrapped up with Toni&Nike's story there. Deji.. catch him before he goes to Paris.. do it for me, do it in the name of true love, do it for mankind.

Deji maybe you could get a tripod.
